A jet engine is a type of reaction engine discharging a fast-moving jet that generates thrust by jet propulsion. This broad definition includes airbreathing jet engines (turbojets, turbofans, ramjets, and pulse jets). In general, jet engines are combustion engines.
An aircraft propeller, or airscrew, converts rotary motion from an engine or other power source, into a swirling slipstream which pushes the propeller forwards or backwards. It comprises a rotating power-driven hub, to which are attached several radial airfoil-section blades such that the whole assembly rotates about a longitudinal axis. The blade pitch may be fixed, manually variable to a few set positions, or of the automatically-variable “constant-speed” type.
A wonderful display of Air force and Navy planes at the Aerospace Museum of California .
Had a wonderful time at free museum day at the Aerospace Museum of California.
I had to take part in this and I almost missed it by sleeping through. Working graveyard shift has its perks but you really need to plan your days.
